Yecla de Yeltes Fortified Settlement
The fortified settlement of Yecla de Yeltes, also known as “The Castle”, is located 2 km far from the village of Yecla, and it is one of the most amazing pre-Roman fortifications in the Iberian Peninsula. It was occupied for a long time and perhaps it was originally called Virlanga.
Cultural activities
During the summer season, also, the province of Salamanca offers interesting cultural activities such as Feria de Teatro of Castilla y León, held in Ciudad Rodrigo.
Arribes Cheese. Sheep raw milk
The north-east landscape of Salamanca, dotted with forests of oak trees, oak groves and croplands, turns into terraces by the river Duero and its canyons.
These particular conditions make pastures and scrubland vegetation ideal for any kind of livestock.
Rock Paintings in Las Batuecas
This is a deep remote valley 14 km from La Alberca, village which has been declared Historical Site, where we can find some remains of Neolithic settlements and traces of our ancestors.
